Early Life
Kyler Cole Murray was born on August 7, 1997, in Bedford. He is the son of Misun Henderson and former Texas A&M quarterback Kevin Murray. Murray comes from a family of athletes: his uncle Calvin Murray played Major League Baseball, and his cousin Devin Duvernay plays in the NFL.
Murray attended Allen High School, where he led the football team to three state championships and a 43-game winning streak. He was named Gatorade Football Player of the Year and Mr. Texas Football twice, becoming the first player in history to earn the award more than once. Murray also excelled in baseball, playing second base and shortstop, and became the first athlete selected for both the Under Armour All-America Football Game and Baseball Game.
College Career
Murray began his college career at Texas A&M University before transferring to the University of Oklahoma. At Oklahoma, he became the starting quarterback in 2018 and won the Heisman Trophy, Davey O’Brien Award, and Associated Press College Football Player of the Year, while also playing baseball for the Sooners.
