Stima DT Sacco Profile

Stima Deposit-Taking Sacco (Stima DT Sacco) stands today as one of Kenya’s most dynamic and trusted cooperative financial institutions. Established in 1974 to serve employees of the then East African Power & Lighting Company (now Kenya Power), the Sacco has grown beyond its original membership base to become a national and global financial partner for individuals, groups, and corporates.

Over the years, Stima DT Sacco has evolved into a beacon of financial empowerment, guided by strong governance, technological innovation, and an unwavering commitment to member welfare.

Empowerment and Growth

When Stima Sacco was founded, its main objective was to provide employees with a safe platform for saving, affordable access to credit, and consistent dividends on investment. More than five decades later, these goals remain at the heart of its operations.

Today, the Sacco serves thousands of members drawn from all sectors of the economy — including salaried professionals, entrepreneurs, business groups, and diaspora members. With a strong asset base, a wide range of products, and a reputation for paying attractive dividends, Stima DT Sacco continues to play a key role in improving the financial well-being of its members and contributing to Kenya’s cooperative movement.

Open and Inclusive Membership

Stima DT Sacco is a member-owned institution with a philosophy rooted in inclusivity and cooperation. Membership is open to all resident and non-resident Kenyans, whether individuals, groups, or corporates.

Upon admission, each member is issued a unique membership number and automatically enrolled into three mandatory accounts that form the foundation of their financial journey with the Sacco. This structured system ensures that all members benefit from a standardized, transparent, and efficient service delivery framework.

The Sacco’s membership policy is voluntary and founded on mutual trust — open to all who share the common bond of cooperation and are willing to actively participate in the society’s growth.
