Wycliffe Oparanya

Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development Wycliffe Oparanya has reappointed Samuel Stephen Owuor Ogola as a member of the Uwezo Fund Oversight Board for another three-year term.

In a Gazette Notice dated July 24, 2026, Oparanya renewed Ogola’s appointment with effect from the same date.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 5 (2) (d) of the Public Finance Management (Uwezo Fund) Regulations, 2014, the Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development re-appoints Samuel Stephen Owuor Ogola as a Member of the Uwezo Fund Oversight Board for a period of three (3) years, with effect from July 24, 2026,” the notice states.

Ogola was first appointed to the Oversight Board in 2023.

The Uwezo Fund is a government initiative established in 2013 to improve access to affordable financing for women, youth and persons with disabilities (PWDs). Besides providing loans, the fund also supports beneficiaries through entrepreneurship training and business development programmes aimed at helping them start, expand and sustain their enterprises.

The fund is administered under the Ministry of Co-operatives and MSMEs Development and plays a key role in promoting financial inclusion, job creation and the growth of small businesses across the country.
