Kenya National Police DT Sacco chairman David Mategwa elected ACCOSCA vice chairman
David Sohelo Mategwa, National Chairman of the Kenya National Police DT Sacco, has been elected Vice Chairman of the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations (ACCOSCA).
The appointment was made at the recently concluded prestigious SACCA Congress, held in Accra, Ghana.
ACCOSCA is the continental governing body for financial cooperatives across Africa, making Mategwa’s appointment a significant development for the Kenyan cooperative sector.
In a statement celebrating the achievement, the Kenya National Police DT Sacco expressed pride in its leader.
“We are proud to announce that our National Chairman, David Sohelo Mategwa, has been elected Vice Chairman of the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations,” the Sacco stated on its social media page.
This new position is a significant addition to Mategwa’s leadership portfolio on the continent. The Sacco noted that the “prestigious appointment comes in addition to his current role as Vice Chairman of the ACCOSCA Foundation.”
The SACCO highlighted the broader impact of his election, stating that Mategwa’s elevation benefits more than just his own organisation.

Mategwa, who holds the titles OGW, HSC, DSA, and ICUDE, was praised by his institution for his unwavering dedication to the cooperative movement.
The SACCO concluded its announcement with a message of personal congratulations: “Congratulations, Chairman! Your commitment to the cooperative movement continues to inspire us all!”
His dual leadership roles within ACCOSCA and its foundation position him as a key influence in shaping the future of financial cooperatives on the continent.
