She received her education in both Denmark and abroad. Margrethe studied at N. Zahle’s School in Copenhagen, North Foreland Lodge in England, Girton College, Cambridge, Aarhus University, the Sorbonne in Paris, and later the London School of Economics, where she focused on politics and archaeology.
