Business Leaders Awards 2024: Kenya National Police DT Sacco CEO Solomon Atsiaya bags prestigious trophy

Kenya National DT Sacco CEO Solomon Atsiaya has won the prestigious Business Leaders Awards 2024 by TUKO News, emerging among the few chosen leaders to receive the award.

The TUKO.co.ke Business Leaders Awards 2024 embraced the spirit of enterprise and community building and saw the honourees chosen from various industries directly impacting Kenyans. The awards further recognized leaders who rose against daunting challenges, embracing diversity and enhancing social impact. It also aimed to inspire others through stories of perseverance and dedication, fostering a culture of giving back and contributing to the transformation of Kenya’s socio-economic landscape.

On receiving the honorary, Mr. Atsiaya expressed his appreciation for the award, stating that it is good to appreciate the contributions of others.

“It’s good feeling as sometimes you can work hard and people would not even care about your contributions. Remember we are men and we love being recognized,” said in an exclusive response to Sacco Trend Magazine.

Under his leadership, Mr. Atsiaya has managed to grow the DT Sacco from a balance sheet of Ksh 300 million and 23,000 members to a capital base of KSh 19 billion and an asset base of Ksh 55 billion and a membership exceeding 75,000 saving the Sacco from being negatively capitalized.

“When I joined in 2009, the Sacco was in financial distress. We’ve turned those struggles into lessons and today we are thriving. This award represents our journey through adversity,” he said.

The Honour comes after the recognition of Kenya Police DT Sacco as the best-managed Sacco in Kenya, based on merits of Financial Strength, adoption of technology and innovation, membership growth and satisfaction, loan portfolio management, Corporate social responsibility (CSR), Compliance, effective risk management and strong governance and leadership.

In celebration of their CEO, Kenya National Police DT Sacco highlighted that the award reflects the confidence its members has placed in the SACCO and also shows the exceptional experience provided by the SACCO.

Kenya National Police DT Sacco further noted that the award serves a s a powerful reminder to continue pursuing excellence and reaching new heights. The SACCO further extended their gratitude to TUKO News for honouring their CEO and recognizing their unwavering commitment to excellence.
